In the book, “I’m Here” by Peter Reynolds, the boy in the story imagines he is flying in a paper airplane that he has folded. In remote learning today, second-grade students are first folding a paper airplane and then creating a self-portrait in the style of Peter Reynolds. They will then carefully cut out their self-portrait and attach themselves to their airplane. In order to fly the airplane with my self-portrait on it, I needed to use a little bit of hot glue to keep my self-portrait in place. See if an adult can help you with this step if you wish to fly your airplane with you in it! |
