To celebrate our "One Book One School," the students and I created our Wishtree. First and second grade students folded and painted the leaves. The tree and background will transform as we read the book as a school. More posts to come with hanging wishes and more!
First grade students were inspired by Paul Cezanne's apple still life paintings. Students drew overlapping apples in their still life. Students focused on using more than one color to color their apples. Students also discovered how a light source can create both a highlight and shadow when shined on a 3-dimensional object. Apples, 1878
Kindergarten students learned which primary colors mix to create which secondary colors through coloring mixing with model magic. There were in awe at how the clay changed colors when mixed!
