The third grade looked at Piet Mondrian's Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow. The students then created their own red, blue, and yellow composition. The students then started quilling on top of their Piet Mondrian composition.
Last week the first grade students finished up their watercolor surrealistic creatures. Students looked at Salvador Dali's painting The Elephants and an interactive website SwitchZoo (http://switchzoo.com/zoo.htm) for inspiration. Today we had a discussion about overlapping and practiced overlapping geometric shapes.
