First grade students used cardboard to paint paper for their apple still life collage. Students swept the cardboard back and forth and noticed the variegated cardboard edge creates a texture on their paper. We also looked at the picture book "A Day with No Crayons" where Eliza realizes she is still able to create even if she cannot use crayons.
Students were invited to South Middle School to meet with experts in the art categories of Photography, Film Production, Dance Choreography, Visual Arts, Literature, and Music Composition. It was a great night, hosted by our PTA and helped inspire students with what they can submit to our Reflections contest.
